On the topic of cheese:

Post-30 day challenge, I’d only bend the rules for cheese made from vegetarian rennet. I know calves still get killed to make the milk, but I know a dairy farm that artificially inseminates cows to produce only female calves. I’ve visited the cows and they seem ok. I don’t know if it’s an organic farm but I’ll ask. I’d like to research how common this artificial insemination practice is.

I acknowledge it’s not perfect, but it may be the closest modern dairy farming can get to being humane. I don’t think that those farms should be punished on the same level as other, less humane farms for making that effort.

That’s where I’m at right now anyway.
