Can anyone please suggest any (academic) books or journal articles that might help me explain what feminism was about in the 20th century? I’m always reading and thinking about what feminism is now, but I haven’t really put that in a historical context yet (for example - when did intersectionality become defining element of feminism? If it is, yet?). Now I need to write an essay about 20th century feminism and I feel hopelessly ignorant. But I don’t want to be.

Basically, if anyone has any favourite texts, please please please steer me in their direction!

I’ll just be waiting here with Sim de B.
